Band Description
Frank Sinatra meets The Doors meets Andy Warhol meets Zarathustra! The music of The Valerie Solanas is best described as a baroque mixture of pop, jazz, rock, country and what not. They are ardent supporters of an absolute eclecticism, and stubbornly resist to peg themselves down on one specific genre. Apart from covers they also play their own songs, always adding an eccentric twist. The ghost of Frank Sinatra haunts their entire repertoire but mind you: this is a Sinatra on acid!

The Valerie Solanas Manifesto
Life in this society being, at best, an utter bore and no aspect of society being at all relevant to women, there remains to civic-minded, responsible, thrill-seeking females only to overthrow the government, eliminate the money system, institute complete automation and destroy the male sex. It is now technically feasible to reproduce without the aid of males (or, for that matter, females) and to produce only females. We must begin immediately to do so. --- (Valerie Solanas, SCUM Manifesto)

These magic words came into my mind while I was having a stroll on a quiet autumn afternoon in Antwerp. Taken along by the gentle rhythm of the city, I started daydreaming: such a Kingdom of Amazones might in fact be a wondrous place to live in! -- provided that some members of the male sexe be spared, of course.

These few would be: the Valerie Solanas personnel, along with a few initiates. In this way, we, male survivors, would inevitably be worshipped by a not insignificant mass of lustful, non-lesbian females (because, my dear Miss Solanas, a flawless society, even without males, cannot possibly exist). Anyhow, as mentioned above, I was only daydreaming. It soon started raining. A female kitten was smeared all over the asphalt by a truck. Reality as described by Miss Solanas had its way. And still: nothings wrong with dreaming about a better world, is there? As some philosophers have proved reality can never be perfect. But it let's stop talking about reality. The greatest power of creative genius is that it can transform, by means of pure magic, dreams and ideas into new realities. How can reality ever change, if not by inserting new, far-fetched, insane realities into it?

Some great crooners such as Frank Sinatra andumFrank Sinatra, some great jazz singers such as Billie Holiday and Nancy Wilson, blues artists such as John Lee Hooker, an occasional country legend such as Johnny Cash they all injected their personal, profound dreams into our poor reality. What in the hell has happened to these dreams?! Now this is exactly what were up to: FORGET ABOUT FEEBLE, CAPITALIST COMMODITIES SUCH AS BRITNEY SPEARS AND PARIS HILTON!! HERE ARE THE VALERIE SOLANAS AND WE ARE GOING TO KICK YOUR ASS WITH SOME GROTESQUE BROADWAY POETICAL DISTOPIA DREAMS!!! And dont you forget to enjoy it...!
